Solutions Radio BV of the Netherlands

is a specialist in delivery of on-line content to closed-user-groups such as the reading disabled and the elderly.  We have developed the following for VIP's:  a player that is so very easy to operate and which offers access to a variety of content from daily talking newspapers to podcasts, from (DAISY) talking books to radio stations and TV subtitling.  Each button has one function only.  It uses the Internet to access content yet a computer is not required.  For a demo film click here:  http://flash.solrad.nl/en/total/

Besides the player we have a DAISY on-line distribution system for libraries for the blind to enable them to distribute their content, talking books and magazines, in a secure way to their readers over the Internet as well as a Content and On-line Player management tool to control access to content and also remotely manage the on-line player (firmware upgrade, change play list, send messages etc.)

In the UK the player is called Sonata and is distributed by British Wireless for the Blind Fund in Maidstone Kent.  BWBF offers a complete service including the distribution management system and helpdesk.  Many local talking newspapers can already be heard on Sonata!  For more information go to their website at www.blind.org.uk
