MEMBERSHIP
Full Membership of the Charity shall be open to any body corporate or unincorporated association which is interested in furthering the Charity's work and has paid any annual subscription (any such body being called in this constitution a "member organisation") subject to the agreement of the Executive Committee.
Associate Membership of the Charity shall be open to individuals over the age of 18 years who are interested in the work of the Charity and who have paid any annual subscription laid down from time to time by the Executive Committee. An Associate member can be a member of the Executive Committee subject to the agreement of the Executive Committee.
Member Services
As a member of the TNF, a local Talking Newspaper will have access to a number of benefits which may not be available to non-members. These include:
Facts Sheet
The TNF will provide a range of free fact sheets for members. They will cover a wide range of topics from a "model constitution" and guidelines on charity registration to technical information.
Website
The TNF website contains general information about Talking Newspaper and the TNF and enables enquirers to find their own local Talking Newspaper. There is a special password protected section for TNF members.
Insurance
The present insurance policies will remain for TNF members only.
Conferences
Each year, the TNF will organise a National weekend conference.
The conference will include a programme of seminars and social events, a gala dinner on the Saturday evening, together with trade exhibitors.
Talking News Magazine
Each member will receive a copy, and the TNF magazine will carry information about Talking Newspapers and members activities.
Talking News Magazine will also be distributed to other interested parties and available by private subscription.
Long Service Certificates
These are available to Talking Newspapers free of charge to mark 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 editions.
Membership Application Form.
There are two types of membership:
Full - which covers all Talking Newspaper Groups and those bodies who provide audio information for partially sighted people @ £45.00. and
Associate – which covers individuals whose TN may or may not be members of the Federation but who wish to support the Federation in which case their membership fee is £9.00.
There is also a facility within the Associate Membership to accept those bodies/companies who provide a service to the partially sighted people but not necessarily in an audio format and their membership fee is £45.00.
