Instructions for enabling skill

To use the new skill, first enable the skill on your device, to do this you will need the name which is "Talking News Information". There are a number of ways to do this, either find and enable 'Talking News Information' on the Alexa app on your smart device, or laptop/pc. Else you can ask your Alexa dot/echo "enable Talking News Information".

Once the skill is enabled, ask Alexa "Talking News Information" which will open the skill. The welcome message will be provided, after which you will be asked for an area name, this could be a town, city or county. If you are unable to find your area name just go to the nearest large town/city to where you are.  A list of 5 newspapers where available closest to the area name given will be listed. These will be selected in order, nearest to your location first, within a range, so you don’t receive anything that is too far away. This may also mean that some areas will not provide a response.

Once the list of Talking Newspaper/Talking Magazine names have been read out, simply respond with the one you want to listen to, asking Alexa by name as announced. The selected Talking Newspaper/Talking Magazine will be played as soon as you request this.

Moving forward and back through the tracks where tracked can be completed saying next and previous, or next track or previous track.

Currently as this is just first launch and beginning there will be some initial teething problems.  Resources are available and developers are already working on future developments. These will include Google Home and other smart speakers.
